Santaquin Fun

This past week I went home to Santaquin to see the fam, my sister was there with her three adorable little girls so we had a ball. Much to my surprise, my Dad has grown a beard, first time in my lifetime that he has grown one. I think it looks good!

One Year Down.... Many Years to Come

Yesterday Ben and I celebrated our one year anniversary by going to San Francisco. We stayed at the Hotel Monaco, the same hotel we stayed at on our wedding night. It was a beautiful hotel with great service.



After checking in, we exchanged gifts before going out and exploring the city. Ben gave me my favorite perfume, Lucky, and a new pair of high heels. He is such a sweet heart. I had asked for the perfume but the high heels were a total surprise. I got him a new wallet (since his last was stolen) and a dinner to a sushi restaurant of his choice.









After gifts, Ben and I went out to explore the city. We checked out many of the stores, enjoyed people watching from Jack in the Box, and went to the matinée Get Smart. By this time we were hungry for some dinner so Ben took me to the Cheesecake Factory. MMmmmm! Ben got fish and chips, I got bow-tie pasta with Alfredo sauce.


After dinner we walked around a little more then headed back to the hotel for cake. I had frozen the top of our wedding cake and saved it for our anniversary. Upon arriving back at the hotel, we noticed a bottle of wine in a tub of ice, two wine glasses, and a card from the front desk. When we had checked in we had told the woman at the front desk that it was our one year anniversary. The wine and note were from her congratulating us and wishing us her best wishes. Since she had been so thoughtful we had to bust the old bottle open.....and pretend to drink it. Man those corks make a loud popping sound when they are pried from the bottle! Ben popped it off and it shot up and hit the sealing. It was petty fun pretending to be wine drinkers!

Almost One Year Already?!

Not much has happened since our last blog. Ben and I are just preparing for our upcoming anniversary! Crazy huh?! I can't believe it will be one year this Monday! Both of us are trying to figure this whole anniversary thing out and how it should go. I caught Ben yesterday hiding one of my present in one of my own shoes!!! haha he cracks me. Wherever he has hid it now is a good place cause he is at work and I have turned this place inside out and still no signs! I hope he likes my gift, we talked about getting a Wii, even found one and were on our way to purchase the oh so loved device, but he decided it would be best if we didn't buy one. I am grateful for a loving selfless husband, I know how much he loves Wii's, so for him to turn down the opportunity says a lot about his character.

Chaos In Cali

Okay, Sutton here, Ben has officially fallen behind in the blogging industry so I am picking up the reigns. California is great, the weather is beautiful and our apartments are nice; life is good. A week or so ago Ben and I, with a few other couples from the company, went to Six Flags for the day, it was a lot of fun. I do not recommend the Tea Cups!!! They made me so sick! The pictures above were taken just before getting on the Medusa, now that roller coaster I do recommend!!!

Ben is doing a fantastic job in sales, he made 2 more sales yesterday! It's a tough job, already half of the salesmen and techs have quit but Ben is pushing through it and doing a great job, I'm really proud of him, he is a hard worker. I am still looking for a job. It's a little rough trying to find one for only 2 months. But, I did have a partial interview at Ross last Friday and took a 80 question test (over half of which the questions were on marijuana) so hopefully they call me back rather than being like all the other companies I have applied at who simply say they will call and never do.





Some of you may have heard, but I thought I would post some pictures, that our car was broken into this past Sunday. While we were in church someone had busted out the driver's window to Ben's car and stolen his wallet. Ben immediately called the cops while I began calling the credit card companies. We got all our cards canceled before the sheriff finally pulled up. He reported it and also took some finger prints off the car in hopes that we can find the church spirit killing thief. All that he/she/they have used on the cards (we can see what they spent through our online banking) is $14 at Carl's Jr, $10 at McDonald's, and $100 dollars at two different Walgreens in two different cities. They only had access to our cards for maximum 3 hours or less so I'm pretty grateful that that is all they have spent (so far, as they show up on our accounts). But all is well, the banks will reimburse all the money that was stolen, we got the car window fixed yesterday, we put up a fraud alert so that they can't steal Ben's identity, and all we have to take care of now is getting Ben a new drivers license.

Anyway, that's all I've got for today, hopefully the next blog isn't in 2 and a half months and comes with better news! Hope you are all doing well and having a nice summer!!!

One Tough Cookie

On Saturday Sutton had a game in Las Vegas v. UNLV. She made the trip down at 7:30 am and I followed a couple hours later along with a friend of mine who is from Czech Republic and plays for SUU's Basketball team. We found the field a couple minutes after the game started. It was hot and we tried to find some shade both of us being of the fairer complexion. It was a good game. UNLV is a good team and SUU got pretty tired only having one sub being a spring game and all but Mrs. Sutton Fox was amazing! She had 10 or so amazing saves. Lots of one on one saves that were the result of a tired and collapsing defense. We ended up losing 3-0 but Sutton really did awesome. All goals resulting from no one "marking their man" and Sutton having to make the save and then be expected to block an immediate shot from another player. It was rough but Sutton's Second half was great to watch. Lots of congrats from other players and people for her after the game. She's excited for the fall season even with all the bruises, scrapes, bumps and soreness.

Conference was great. I listened to the Sunday Sessions from my bed. Heard alot of great council. Elder Christofferson's talk was great. I liked the "meet Elder Christofferson" format of it. Other than that the usual people gave the usual great talks. E. Holland and Bednar were exceptional and I really liked to hear Pres. Monson fill the shoes of Pres. Hinckley. His closing remarks were similar to the former but in his own style and I appreciated it.

Vegas was Great!

Last weekend Sutter and I went to Vegas for 3 days. Since we had no obligations Friday and no school on Monday we headed on down to warmer, sunnier territory. What a needed adventure it was. Nothing like 75 degree weather and 3 days of no worries to relax any worn out soul. Back to the grindstone tomorrow at 4 am for work.

This is Sutton writing and I really don't know if this is going to work cause I have no idea what I am doing and Ben is at the library but I didn't want this to be late so here it goes from the inexperienced blogger. ...............Happy Birthday Andrew!! I really hope it is wonderful. I have so enjoyed getting to know you these past few months, I really couldn't ask for a better, more fun, and awesome brother-in-law. I was extremely nervous and scared taking on another family but the Foxes are amazing, and you make it that much peachier! Sorry I don't have any witty stories to write but I don't really know any...yet.....except that you like to wear speedos......that's pretty sweet.......and tight.....and a little weird.........but anyway you're awesome and I love you. Happy Birthday.
P.S. I would put a picture up but I don't know how, so just imagine in your mind what you look like and pretend it's on the screen!

New Work

It's been a while but, just like Andrew, what do you expect from boys. Blogs are supposed to be girl things. I'm just picking up the slack and hoping Sutton will catch the bug and begin documenting our adventures. I'm doubting that will happen anytime soon though. I'm working on her, bringing her over to the internet communications side of things.
Well this week I got a job and boy have I never felt more like a piece of poo. Literally. I'm working over at the institute building as a Janitor. I work 15 hours a week and for this first week I'm cleaning the bathrooms. That will change but I really don't like it. I don't know if this is really bad but It's just not me. I guess It'll be fine when I'm not cleaning piss off of a urinal 5 inches from my face. It'll be fine. I'll last until the end of the semester. Second bad thing about this job, besides seeing people I know every day and them poking fun at me, is that every Monday Morning we clean at 4:00 am and then again that night. If it were anymore than once a week getting up that early I wouldn't be taking it.
On the other side, I guess it is work and it does bring in 8 bucks an hour which is almost unheard of in Cedar City. I just need to humble my self I guess. But one huge argument in my mind is that little money right now which keeps me from studying and preparing for future is not a good thing. In my mind my opportunity costs are higher than 8 bucks an hour.
Regardless it'll all work. I'll be fine and the institute will be cleaner than it has been.

Soccer Night

Tonight was indoor soccer night and I was invited to play with Sutton's team. Boy is my babe a Woman among wee girls out on that court. She can shoot, dribble, juke and everything else that is good. I really enjoy watching her play. She's got alot of skills and boys like skills. You know, bow staff skills, computer hacking skills. That sort of thing.
Key play of the night was when I was playing as a forward. One of the girls sent me a high ball and I headed it into the 3 by 4 ft. goal. We won the match with that being the only goal. I'm not one to toot my own horn but there was a loud horn blow heard through out the gym. Me running around with my shirt over my head was quite a sight as well.
The house in Boise looks good. I'm anxious to see more developments and a finished project.
In other news, I talked to the adviser for pre-law students and I'm planning on taking the LSAT this June so if Justin has any advice or encouragement that would be appreciated. Also if anyone has any advice on what I should do to prepare my resume or beef it up that too would be appreciated.

Painters Dos

The week is over and we're both still here. This was the first week of a new semester and classes are looking promising for both Sutton and I. I have a lot of business classes and Sutton has a lot of science classes. Should be a good semester if we stay on top of things. Other things are the redoing of our apartment. We have a new book case from Ikea---->
It's pretty nice and we're still making things fit with it. We also painted our white corner bookcase red. It looks way better since the walls are all white and it adds some contrast. Sutton is one heck of a painter.

Body by Sutton, Belly by Ben: Helpful New Year's Resolution Advice

This week I'd like to talk about food labels and the information they contain, which will help you in your New Year's resolutions for a happy and healthy year!

Tip #1

Pay attention to serving size. Sometimes the serving size is really small, providing a large calorie intake, and we unconsciously eat 3 or 4 servings.

Tip #2

Pay attention to where the calories are coming from. Simple carboyhdrates like candy bars contain a lot of calories but a short supply of energy which will cause you to spike and drop, whereas complex carbohydrates like a piece of bread, vegetables, fruit, will give you long lasting energy, and contain essential nutrients (they have a slow glycemic intake allowing you to feel full longer, and who doesn't want that?).

Tip #3

Pay attention to fat content. There are four main types of fat. You want to avoid saturated (it should be 10% or less of your total daily diet) you shouldn't have ANY trans fat, the good fats to look for are polyunsaturated, and monounsaturated fats. For example, walnuts and fish are a good source for fats.

The long absense

It's been a little while since I've been able to post. I've been studying a lot and trying to get ready for this week. Not sure how it's all gonna turn out but it'll be nice to be done with this set of classes. I'm sure they'll only get harder as time goes on but this semester was a little tough. I liked my classes though so thats a good thing. Next week Sutton and I will be in Santaquin at her parents house and then on the 27th we'll fly to Spokane to spend a few days in WA. I'm super excited to see some little nino's and the rest of you.

Thanks, But No Thanks. I'm Stuffed

Well another week closer to school being out. Good thing about this week was we only had two days of school. Thanksgiving break was nice. Mrs. Fox and I went north to The Inlaws house. Had a good time shopping, eating, visiting, playing and visiting.
Some highlights for me were:

1. Football thanksgiving morning. Neat story was that I lost my wedding ring out on the field and didn't realize it until I got home. Went back the next day and looked in a couple spots and decided to look in one last place before we left. As I was walking across the 20 acre field, low and behold, my ring in the grass. God was guiding cause I was praying. Also I might have been killed had it not been found. It just wasn't my time.
2. Thanksgiving meal was great. Lots of good home cooked food. I think I put a good 5 lbs on.
3. Hanging out with Sutton's Family was good. 3 of her brothers and their wives and kids were there for the dinner and that was fun.
4. Hanging out with Emily and Erin. What a funny couple they are. Driving Erin to the airport was funny because she was late and Emily was driving pretty grandma-ish. We got her there in time regardless. After we dropped her off Emily was saying how Erin wouldn't let her play the Hairspray Soundtrack and she wanted to play it. That only lasted a couple minutes.

Over all I think the trip was a success and can't wait to do it with the Foxes next year. Hope to see you all there.

Happy Birthday Lauren. You are wonderful and bright and fun! Lauren is wonderful because she is very forgiving. When we were little lauren got peed on by a little rude boy and she still talks to that boy. She is so nice to have forgiven him. Lauren also has a great sense of style. She buys great gifts. I always look forward to the year she draws my name for gift giving. I'm sorry this is random but I love ya Lauren and hope your day was great!

Happy Birthday Mom!!

My mom is great! I remember when I was in elementary school and my mom and dad put me in charge of feeding Blue and Jane the horses. I didn't enjoy feeding them vary much. I was scared because every morning they would come running and act all crazy. Well one morning I decided not to feed them and just go to school. Well things were going great at school, PE had started and I was just getting into the activity when my mom comes marching in the gym with a note to tell the PE teacher to let me go with her. She marched me right out of PE and sent me to feed the horses. What a teacher Mom has always been.

Mom is my reason for passing Mr. Hughes' math tables. She helped me with scouting and would drive me to every practice in every sport that I played. Mom has done so many things for all of us and I love her!

TESTS!!!!

Ok, two days until Thanksgiving break and Sutton and I each have one test. We both are feeling way overwhelmed as we try to prepare. Mine's in Business Law and Sutton's is in Microeconomics. I'm really not looking forward to it and can't wait till it's over. I really don't want to fail this thing but who knows. I already bombed a quantitative methods test on Thursday so this hasn't been a good last push. I'm hoping to come back to school re-energized and ready for the last two weeks. GET OVER ALREADY!

Sunday Field Trip

This afternoon Sutton and I went up the canyon which Cedar City sits at the base of. We had a good time driving about a half hour up to the annex of Zions National Park; Cedar Breaks. It was a pretty nice 35 degrees with a little fog and snow.
